How to Pause and Resume Outreach

You can pause outreach for a whole project or for a single campaign. You can pause it indefinitely, or until a specific date and time. ⏸️

Pausing outreach for a project

  1. From the Active Projects page, click the three dots (…) next to the project and open Project Settings.

  1. Choose how to pause:
    • Indefinitely: switch the Outreach toggle off.
    • Until a set date: enter a date and time in "Pause Outreach Until". You don't need to switch the toggle off as well.
  2. Click "Save".

The project and its campaigns will display a message confirming that outreach is paused.

Pausing outreach for a campaign

  1. Open the campaign's Campaign Settings and go to Outreach Schedule.
  2. Choose how to pause:
    • Indefinitely: under "Advanced Options", click the "Outreach" option to turn outreach off.
    • Until a set date: choose the date and time you want outreach to restart.
  3. Click "Save".

To see when a paused campaign will restart, hover over the yellow dot on the campaign.

When both project and campaign are paused

If you pause outreach at both levels, the project settings take priority.

Resuming outreach

To resume outreach for a project, open Project Settings as described above, switch the Outreach toggle on, and click "Save" before leaving the page. If you set a "Pause Outreach Until" date, outreach restarts automatically at that time.

What happens when outreach resumes

Pitchbox sends the next attempt in the sequence. If the current contact has already received every attempt, outreach moves on to the next available contact.

Resumed outreach still follows your outreach schedule and the number of days set between attempts. If outreach moves to a new contact, Pitchbox waits that number of days before sending the first attempt.

When resuming outreach is useful

You've found a better contact. Add the new contact to the opportunity and move them to the top of the contact list. When you resume outreach, Pitchbox emails the new contact.

You received an auto-reply. If you don't want to wait for the person to come back, you can resume outreach to move on to the next contact. If the auto-reply came after your first attempt and you have follow-ups set up, resuming will send those follow-ups to the same contact. To switch contacts instead, re-order the contact list before resuming.

You've added a new follow-up attempt. If an opportunity was marked finished after all attempts were sent, you can add another attempt and then resume outreach to send it.
