Why Did My Email Not Deliver?

Sometimes, you will receive a note within your Opportunity Details page that alerts you about an undelivered email. There are various reasons why your email may not have delivered.

Incorrect Email Address

One of the simplest and most frequent issues is a typo in the recipient's email address. A single character mistake, like missing a letter or including an extra space, can lead to a bounce.

Spam & Blacklists

Email service providers use advanced filters to catch spam. If your email contains suspicious language, too many links, or large attachments, it may be flagged and never reach the inbox. Additionally, if your email server’s IP address or domain is on a blacklist, often due to previous spam complaints, your emails could be blocked by the recipient’s server. You can check the health and deliverability of your email address on the Email Accounts page using MXRight.

Full Mailbox

If the recipient’s inbox is full, their server may reject incoming messages until space is freed up.

Temporary Server Issue

Sometimes, server outages or configuration errors prevent emails from being delivered even when everything is correct on the sender’s end.

Blocked Sender

The recipient may have manually blocked your email address or domain, either by mistake or intentionally.

If you wish to continue emailing the contact, you can remove the bounce flag by clicking on the red bounce triangle and selecting 'Click to Remove Bounce Flag'.
