Does Pitchbox Automatically Add Any Custom Fields to a Campaign?
Yes. When you create a campaign, Pitchbox automatically adds a set of system Custom Fields and fills them in for every opportunity. This lets you personalize outreach without researching each site by hand.
Two of these fields are generated by AI: Site Name and Target Page Title. A third, URL List, is filled directly from the URLs you import, with no AI involved. All three appear in the Opportunity Enrichment group and can be added to any email template as tokens.
The automatically added fields
| Field | Token | How it's filled | What it contains |
|---|---|---|---|
| Site Name | {{FLD_SITE_NAME}} |
AI | A short, cleaned-up site or publication name that reads naturally in an email. For example, "Moz" rather than "Moz - SEO Software for Smarter Marketing". |
| Target Page Title | {{FLD_PAGE_TITLE}} |
AI | The title of the page that made this site an opportunity, such as the blog post, roundup, or resource page found during prospecting. |
| URL List | {{FLD_URL_LIST}} |
Imported (not AI) | The URLs you imported for that site, one per line, exactly as they appear in your import file. |
AI fields vs. imported fields: Site Name and Target Page Title are written by AI after it reads the opportunity's page. That makes them cleaner than raw page data, such as a full HTML title with taglines and separators, but they can occasionally miss. URL List is never rewritten, so its contents are exactly what you imported.

Using the fields in your templates
To use a field, add its token to your template's subject line or body in Campaign Settings → Templates & Email Sequence. When the email is composed, Pitchbox replaces each token with that opportunity's value.
Example template:
Subject: Quick note about {{FLD_PAGE_TITLE}}
Hi {{first_name}},
I just read "{{FLD_PAGE_TITLE}}" on {{FLD_SITE_NAME}} and really enjoyed it…
Example result:
Subject: Quick note about The Beginner's Guide to Link Building
Hi Sarah,
I just read "The Beginner's Guide to Link Building" on Moz and really enjoyed it…
Because URL List holds several lines, it works best in the body of an email, such as a link removal request listing every affected page. It isn't suited to subject lines or the middle of a sentence.
Reviewing and editing values before you send
Every value can be edited on the opportunity before the email goes out. AI fields are accurate most of the time, but it's worth a quick check during Inspect & Personalize, especially for Site Name. Sites with unusual branding, abbreviations, or several publications under one domain can occasionally produce a name that isn't quite right.
If a field comes back empty, for example because a page couldn't be read, the token will be blank in the email. Check for empty values before moving opportunities to Compose. Alternatively, write templates that still read naturally if the field is missing.
Updating templates from the old MRG tokens
These fields replace the older personalization tokens. If you have templates from before the change, swap the old tokens for the new ones:
| Old token | New token |
|---|---|
{{MRG_SITE_NAME}} |
{{FLD_SITE_NAME}} |
{{MRG_BLOG_NAME}} |
{{FLD_SITE_NAME}} |
{{MRG_PAGE_TITLE}} |
{{FLD_PAGE_TITLE}} |
{{MRG_RECENT_BLOG_POST}} |
{{FLD_PAGE_TITLE}} |
