The Unmatched Folder
Keeping your unmatched folder empty is essential to keeping your outreach organized. This guide explains why emails end up there, who can see them, and how to match them to the right opportunities.
Why Emails Show Up in the Unmatched Folder
Emails appear in your unmatched folder when they come from addresses that aren't attached to an opportunity in your project.
Sometimes these emails have nothing to do with your outreach, such as work or personal emails. In other cases, they're related to your outreach. For example, if you contact an opportunity and one of their colleagues replies instead, that colleague may not be associated with the opportunity yet, so their reply goes to the unmatched folder. You can add them as a new contact when you match the email.
Email Privacy in the Unmatched Folder
When you connect an email account, it's marked as private by default. This means only the person who connected the account can view its emails in the unmatched folder. Privacy settings protect personal and work emails for users who want to keep the contents of their inbox private.
Private emails show a privacy notice in the subject field.

Turning Off Email Privacy
To remove the privacy notice and let all users view these emails, the person who connected the email account must turn off email privacy in their privacy settings. For step-by-step instructions, see how to change your email privacy settings.
Requesting Access to Private Emails
Users can also request access to private emails. To do this, hover over the email and click Request Access.

The account owner will receive an email notification asking them to change their privacy settings.

How to Match an Unmatched Email
To match an email to an opportunity, click on the message. A table will appear where you can fill in the Project, Campaign, Opportunity, and Contact. If the email is from a new opportunity, click Create New Opportunity.

Please note: You can only match an email to an opportunity if the email account that received it has access to the project the opportunity is in.
Unsubscribe and Archive Options
If an opportunity in your unmatched emails asks to unsubscribe or isn't interested in your outreach right now, you can choose Match and Unsubscribe or Match and Archive.

Partial Match Automation
When Pitchbox can identify everything about an email except the contact, it gives the email a "Partial" status. Pitchbox will automatically match these emails and add the new contact for you.
You can review Partial Match Automation settings for each email account. From the Email Accounts page, click Settings for a connected email account, then click Security.

Please note: Security settings can only be viewed and changed by the admin or user who connected the email account.
