How Does Opportunity Deduplication Work?

The Project-Level Deduplication toggle is found in your General Campaign Settings. This setting is applied when creating a campaign but Opportunity Deduplication can be turned off at any time.

Pitchbox automatically deduplicates opportunities that are prospected within the same project. We use the root domain of the opportunity to deduplicate. For example, Pitchbox would treat the following URLs as the same opportunity:

http://domain.com

http://www.domain.com

http://blog.domain.com

http://whatever.domain.com

http://domain.com/page1

http://domain.com/page2

This also applies to contact-based opportunities within the same project.

There are some exceptions to this rule:

  1. Large free hosting sites such as wordpress.com, blogspot.com, tumblr.com, etc., which offer subdomains to users are deduplicated on subdomains. For example, http://crazyknittinglady.wordpress.com and http://templefootballforever.wordpress.com are two different opportunities.
  2. Link Removal Campaigns only deduplicate against other link removal campaigns within the same project; it will not deduplicate against other link building campaigns.
